Marcos Galvão
Marcos Galvão (born June 23, 1981) is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and is the current Bellator Bantamweight Champion. A professional competitor since 2003, Galvão peaked at a global ranking of #2 among Bantamweights in August 2007 and has also formerly competed for the WEC, Shooto, and Jungle Fight. Galvao's nickname "Louro" means "blonde" in Portuguese, because he often dyes his hair this color.

Galavo was born in the Amazonas and raised in Manaus, Brazil. Galvao began practicing judo when he was 11 years old before transitioning into Brazilian jiu-jitsu shortly after, being trained under Nonato Machado until moving to Rio de Janeiro at the age of 13. It was in Rio de Janeiro where Galvão received his black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu from Nova Uniao founder André Pederneiras. Galvao is a Grapplers Quest Pro Division Champion, five-time Brazilian National Champion and a two-time World Champion. Soon after receiving his black belt, Galvao began competing in mixed martial arts.〔 Galvao resides in new York City with his wife Paula, teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu alongside BJJ and MMA legend Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro at the VSBJJA academy in midtown Manhattan.
